Parent Training
Helping parents and teaching intervention strategies to have children be successful in their language acquisition.

Is your child advancing at an age-appropriate rate? Do you feel like your child may be a late talker?
Trust your parental instinct and gut if you feel like your child is not talking as much as they should for their age. As a bilingual speech language pathologist, I am constantly reading research that states that bilingualism does not cause a language delay. It is important to remember this and go with your gut if you think your child is falling behind.
Having focused most of my career on early intervention and bilingualism I will help guide you and teach you intervention strategies to have your child be successful in their language acquisition.
Earlier than 3 it can be difficult for a child to sit through a speech therapy session let alone one online if the therapist is not available in your city. Using evidence-based research it has been shown that for children 0-3 one of the most effective ways to help an expressive language delay is through parent training.
- I will provide an e-mailed diagnostic document for the parent to fill out
- I will read the answers and provide an individualized approach for that family to best help that individual child.
- Online parent training sessions with firsthand examples and educating the parents on how to best and appropriately approach their child’s language will be provided.
- Once the parent feels as if they have the knowledge necessary to feel comfortable using the tips in their everyday life we can have an online observation session where I watch the family use the tips live or recorded in a certain situation.
- Then I will provide the family with feedback on how they used the tips appropriately or where some improvement can be made.
- I am available for the family constantly then on an as needed basis.
