Jennifer Ferzoco, MS, CCC-SLP

I started my career as a Speech Language Pathologist in Charlotte, North Carolina at a non-profit private practice as their bilingual speech language pathologist (English and Spanish). I provided speech therapy to children from the age of 17 months to 18 years old. I provided speech therapy in a variety of different settings: private practice, preschools, daycares, schools, in home, and online. An important part of my job was parent and teacher education. I also provided continuing education to pediatricians in my area on early intervention.

I have worked with children with a variety of different disorders. Ranging from: articulation disorders, late talkers, expressive language delay, receptive language delay, autism, stuttering, nonverbal children, and those using AAC (augmentative and alternative communication) devices.

Communication, acquisition of speech, and languages have always been my passion. I grew up bilingual speaking French and English and learned Spanish during my bachelor’s degree. Languages are my passion, and I always wanted to help people learn to speak as a Speech Therapist. I received my master’s degree in Communication Sciences and Disorders from Florida State University.

Children are our future and providing them with the best skills from the beginning of their life in communication is necessary. Language and communication are basic skills needed to become successful. Every child learns differently and that is why I provide a different sort of therapy to each individual child and family based on their needs. It is not a one size fits all model.

As a mother I know how challenging it can be when you do not understand what your child wants.  I feel as though becoming a mother has made me a better speech therapist and very empathic to every family that I work with.
